2022 Spring Semester Classes
Center Stage is thrilled to announce our Spring Classes for 2022! We can't wait to welcome our students back for what promises to be an awesome semester!
Classes begin September 7th and run through November 15th!
Storybooks Alive! (Gr. K-2): It’s time to jump in and bring your favorite storybooks to life! This class will bring classic stories to life through song, dance and Reader’s Theatre. Students will enjoy working on tales such as The Three Little Pigs, Snow White, Cinderella and more!
Discovery Tales! (Pre-K(4)-Gr. 2): Join us in learning and explore the skills into performance! This course will help students become comfortable on stage and learn the beginner skills into what makes a great performer. Students will work on discovering role-play skills and working on singing, dancing and acting while setting their work to classic and new tales featuring animal friends and fun characters!
Dynamic Duos (Gr. 3-6): Sandy and Danny, Genie and Aladdin, SpongeBob and Patrick… What do all of these partners have in common? They are all incredible on-stage duos! Get ready to learn about the importance of working in partnership on stage and discover how to do so while examining some of the best-known “dynamic duos” of our time! In this class you will work with others to develop on-stage scenes and songs that best reflect an understanding of how to work with a partner on stage, successfully! Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to take your on-stage work to a whole new level!
Audition Prep (Gr. 6-12): Join teacher, Fiona, as you work on preparation for future auditions! In this class you will work on the ins-and-outs of preparing for an executing a musical theatre audition. This class is essential for those looking to develop the skills and tools needed to have a successful audition whether it be on a small or large scale!
Stage Management 101 (Gr. 6-12): Set, GO! Lights, Go! Curtain, GO! Have you ever wondered whom the person is that calls all of the shots backstage? Join seasoned Stage Manager, Cristina D’Almeida as she gives you a crash course on what it takes to be a Stage Manager in today’s theatre world! In this class you will learn about the organization, management, responsibility and trust it takes to manage a show. You will learn from a pro about how important stage management is and what it takes to do it right. Students will love learning from Cristina as she teaches from her published book, The 10 Commandments of Stage Management! Don’t miss out on this incredible opportunity and class!
Putting On A Show! (Gr. 6-12): Are you interested in the behind-the-scenes work that goes into putting on a show? If so, join Sandra in a brand new class that teaches you about all of the important aspects of putting on Center Stage’s production of White Christmas! You will work to uncover the ins-and-outs of lighting, set, prop and costume design, direction and choreography and the important roles they play in a successful show. Members of the creative team of Center Stage’s winter production of White Christmas will visit your class to teach you about the work that they are doing to put together this amazing show! You will also have the opportunity to test your knowledge by designing creative aspects for the production, yourself. Don’t miss out on a class that will surely help you appreciate everything it takes to get a show up and running!
Musical Theatre Scene & Song (Gr. 6-12): Join veteran Center Stage performer and long-time musical director, Fiona Bryson as you dive into the meaning and acting involved in performing both scene and song, on stage! In this class you will work to understand the character development, message, impact on plot and progression that take place in an on-stage sequence. You will learn about communicating with the audience, music theory and acting, working with an on-stage partner and discover for yourself, why a scene and a song are nothing without adding a little spice!
Acting and Improv. (Gr. 3-6): Get ready to sharpen your skills as you work with Josh on acting and improvisation, on-stage! In this class you will learn first hand why improvisation is not just about comedy and performing, but a way to act on stage with freedom, confidence and positivity. Students will learn about the importance of improvisation and its relationship to on-stage acting through lessons, games and activities that will test their ability to think on their feet, work with others, build effective communication and listening skills, and self-confidence!

Tap 1: Get to know the fundamentals of Tap as you join teacher, Meghan for an introduction to this fun dance style! Tap shoes are required for this class.
Tap 2: Get ready to head to the next level of Tap as you work on mastering skills that incorporate previously learned fundamentals of Tap. Join teacher, Meghan, for this awesome class as you sharpen your tap skills. Tap shoes are required for this class.
Musical Theatre Dance (Gr. 3-6): Join teacher, Meghan, as you learn popular musical theatre steps and dance combinations and set them to popular musical and pop songs, each week! Previous dance experience is not required.

Let’s Dance! (Gr. K-2): An introduction to the world of musical theater dance! An excellent choice to build self-confidence, discover talent, and learn classic jazz and Broadway styles. This high-energy class will prepare any dancer for the bright lights of Broadway!
SINGING
Students who enroll in our voice lessons will work on the basics such as pitch and tone with the goal of becoming confident singers.
ACTING
Our acting classes will have students focusing on voice and speech, character development, interpretation, projection, creative expression and more.
DANCE/MOVEMENT
Take classes such as ballet, tap and musical theater dance. Our classes will help develop you into confident movers.
TECHNICAL THEATRE
Students will learn important aspects of technical theater including lighting design, set design, costumes, wigs, props, stage management, and more!
