The Mystery of Edwin Drood is a musical whodunit based on Charles Dickens's unfinished novel, where the audience votes to decide the murderer and the ending. The story is framed as a show-within-a-show, presented by the rowdy Victorian Music Hall Royale troupe, which is putting on its own production of the story. The plot follows the disappearance of young Edwin Drood on Christmas Eve and the subsequent investigation into the mysterious circumstances surrounding his vanishing.
Bye Bye Birdie is a musical comedy satire about a rock and roll star, Conrad Birdie, who is drafted into the army, prompting his manager Albert Peterson and secretary Rosie Alvarez to arrange a televised "farewell kiss" with a lucky fan to boost publicity. The fan, Kim MacAfee, from the small town of Sweet Apple, Ohio, becomes the focus of the chaotic stunt, which involves her jealous boyfriend, a disapproving mother, and a town in a frenzy. The story culminates in Albert and Rosie's personal and professional journey, set against the backdrop of 1950s teen culture.
